Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins formed a new alliance on Monday Night Raw before WWE Day 1 2022 pay-per-view. Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins both competed in a Fatal 5 Way Match at WWE Day 1 2022 event involving Brock Lesnar, Bobby Lashley and Big E for the WWE Championship and in the end Brock Lesnar walked out victorious by capturing the WWE Title.

At WWE Day 1 2022 event, Fatal 4 Way Match had been scheduled for WWE Championship as Big E to defend his WWE Title against Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley but it turned into a Fatal 5 Way Match when Brock Lesnar took part in a WWE Championship Match. Brock Lesnar was originally scheduled to wrestle against Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at WWE Day 1 2022 event but due to Roman Reigns tested positive for COVID-19, Brock Lesnar took part in a WWE Championship Match and made it a Fatal 5 Way Match.

On January 3, 2022, episode of Monday Night Raw after WWE Day 1 2022 pay-per-view, Brock Lesnar was a WWE Champion and the Fatal 4 Way Match had been announced between Big E, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens with winner getting a WWE Championship opportunity against Brock Lesnar at WWE Royal Rumble 2022 premium live event.

In the main event of WWE Raw, all four Superstars collided in a Fatal 4 Way Match and they had a great fight inside and outside of the ring. During the fight, Seth Rollins slapped Kevin Owens on the face and then Kevin Owens gave Seth Rollins a kiss in return.
